At just 1.25 meters tall and weighing less than 30 kilograms, Chen Luyuan could suffer a bone fracture with even a sneeze.

Born in 1984 in Jinyun county – in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – Chen was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta at 3 months old.

From then on, frequent fractures became Chen's nightmare, but she's always positive and never stops her studies.

In 2007, Chen graduated from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, the province's capital city. Though full of ambition, she was rebuffed many times during her job hunting because of her condition.

After she quit her job at an advertising company, Chen set up a studio with two friends. According to Chen, although the studio was small, the business income covered her living expenses.

In 2009, Chen learned about the China-Dolls Care and Support Association which was founded the previous year by individuals with Osteogenesis Imperfecta and various rare disorders.

She then made the bold decision of closing down her studio to devote herself to the cause – volunteering to join the China-Dolls Care and Support Association and design magazines and special issues for it.
