The fifth session of the fourth Lishui Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference opened on Feb 22 in the city of Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province.
A total of 313 CPPCC members participated in the session. They discussed the major political, economic and social issues of the metropolis.
Chen Ruishang, chairman of the CPPCC Lishui Municipal Committee, reviewed last year's work and introduced the major projects scheduled for 2021.
Chen stressed that 2021 was the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) -- with the city and the country embarking on a new journey in high spirits to fully build a modern socialist China -- as well as also being the Party's centenary.
He said as representatives of all political parties, organizations, all ethnic groups and all walks of life, CPPCC members must further enhance their political standing and set a high political standard.
Chen added that they must be duty-bound to fulfill the historic mission entrusted to them by the new era.
