A special activity to celebrate the upcoming centenary of the Communist Party of China recently took place at the Yingcun Village Central Primary School in Suichang county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province.
Under the guidance of the teachers, more than 180 students at the school drew major events from the Party's history on flat round bamboo baskets – as well as on bamboo hats and other bamboo woven products – to express their gratitude to the Party.

The primary school used the abundant local bamboo resources for the exercise.
According to the school principal, they'd like to take the study of the Party's history as an opportunity to present more depictions using bamboo.
The students' works were displayed in the school's bamboo culture exhibition hall, which attracted visits from many teachers and students from surrounding schools, as well as villagers.
The school also invited the students who created the paintings to tell the stories behind the works to visitors.
