Zhejiang authorities awarded the title of "Thousand-Year-Old Ancient Town" to 10 towns and the title of "Thousand-Year-Old Ancient Village" to 15 villages across the province at a dedicated press conference held in the provincial capital of Hangzhou on April 21.

These designations were part of the provincial government's continuous efforts in preserving and promoting cultural heritage items. The government had granted the same titles to 20 places as early as 2017.

All of the title holders were selected by scholars on the basis of historic records and field studies.
