Approvals for a total of 14 new projects with an accumulated investment of 3.64 billion yuan ($562.33 million) were formally signed in Qingyuan county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – on April 28.

Eleven are industrial projects in the fields of biotechnology, culture and tourism, the digital economy, as well as bamboo and wooden furniture. With their high economic value, the projects are expected to play a positive role in expanding Qingyuan's high-quality development.

The other three are talent and science and technology projects, including a strategic cooperation project between Qingyuan and Fujian Jiangxia University, a cooperation project between Zhejiang Fangfang Pharma and the Zhejiang Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as a construction project for an e-commerce training base at Taobao University.

The signing of the three projects are expected to bring in more top-flight people and promote the transformation of sci-tech achievements in Qingyuan.
