Lishui rides May Day holiday tourism boom

Lishui city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – witnessed a veritable tourist boom during the recent May Day holiday, local media reported.
According to preliminary statistics, the city's 4A- and 5A-level scenic spots received a total of 651,300 visits during the break, with respective year-on-year increases of 313 percent on last year and a 30 percent gain on the same period in 2019.
Total tourism revenue for its scenic spots hit 143 million yuan ($22.2 million), up 385 percent year-on-year – and was up 24 percent compared with the same period in 2019.
Lishui's Jinyun county, Yunhe county and Liandu district topped the list in terms of the tourist throughput at their 4A- and 5A-level scenic spots – with total visits coming in at 131,300, 127,300 and 117,700 people, respectively.

The Xiandu Scenic Spot in Jinyun county launched a number of special tourist routes during the holiday, reportedly well-received by tourists. The wonderful scenery of Xiandu also featured on a CCTV news broadcast.
The Guyan Huaxiang Scenic Area in the Liandu district launched a creative bazaar, featuring various cultural works, oil paintings and handicrafts.
