Lishui city releases population data
Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province recently released its results from the seventh national population census, local media reported.
According to the latest data, its permanent residential population now stands at 2.5 million, an increase of 390,439 on the population in 2010.
An average family household in Lishui now has 2.35 persons, down 0.24 persons from 2010.
The gender ratio of males to females among the city's permanent residents is now 106.5:100.
Among the city's permanent residents, 400,417, or 15.97 percent, are aged below the age of 14, while 532,546 people, or 21.24 percent, are over 60. The latter percentage is 4.62 percentage points higher than in 2010.
The three most populous regions in Lishui are now sequentially Liandu district, Qingtian county and Jinyun county, with their combined population making up 58.88 percent of the city's aggregate.
Among Lishui's permanent residents, 294,570 have college degrees or higher qualifications and these people have increased to 11,748 per 100,000 compared to 6,700 in 2010.
