The 2021 China Qingtian Museum Groups Forum was held on June 4-6 in Qingtian county, Lishui city, East China's Zhejiang province, attracting the participation of hundreds of big names in architecture, design, literature and art in China.
The forum provided more opportunities for the county to promote its planned development of a museum cluster, as well as the integrated development of its cultural and tourism sectors.
At present, Qingtian is positioning itself as a regional cultural highland that is themed on the cultures of the Oujiang River, overseas Chinese and stone carving – using art museums as a springboard for change.
In 2018, the county began planning a culture and tourism project with a total investment of over 8 billion yuan ($1.24 billion). The project includes building a complex of museums integrating ecological parks, cultural creativity, leisure and vacations and other new business ventures.
Although construction has yet to start, the museums complex is expected to become a new calling card for Qingtian.
