Lishui's Suichang county promotes intelligent manufacturing
Suichang county – administered by Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – continues to promote smart industry in the wake of starting the implementation of a three-year project last year, for the intelligent transformation of its traditional manufacturing sector.
To date, the county has reportedly made great progress and has also raised the overall digital levels of the industry.
Last year, investment in Suichang's manufacturing industry increased by 19.3 percent – moving up from being last in Lishui's regions in 2019 to first.
"The compound growth rate of our revenue over the past three years has exceeded 35 percent – sales increased from 180 million yuan ($27.84 million) in 2018 to 320 million yuan in 2020 – and it is expected to exceed 500 million yuan this year," said Jin Zheyu, head of KAN Battery Co Ltd in Suichang.
Seven years ago, KAN Battery was just a small company with tight funds, few orders and a serious inventory backlog. Now it has grown into the only company in Lishui to be selected as a key company with national support.
The rapid development of KAN Battery reportedly benefited from Suichang's in-depth implementation of its "Industrial Rejuvenation Project".
Suichang has also been working hard on moving into emerging industries. The first sample from the additive manufacturing technology innovation center of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation in Suichang was successfully printed recently, marking the official use of the first metal 3D multi-functional platform in southern Zhejiang.
In 2020, the added value of emerging industries and core industries in the digital economy in Suichang increased by 38.5 and 20.8 percent year-on-year. To top it off, the local metal products industrial base was selected on the list of National Torch Characteristic Industrial Bases in 2020.
