The CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee hosted a conference on the high-quality development of the province's 26 mountainous counties on July 19.

Yuan Jiajun, Party secretary of Zhejiang province, delivered a keynote speech at the conference.

Yuan spoke highly of the 26 counties' socioeconomic achievements over the past year, as well as called on government officials to step up their efforts in enhancing these counties' comprehensive competitiveness and innovation abilities. He stressed that the counties' realization of accelerated development is vital to the province's fulfillment of its task as a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

Yuan noted that the indicators of economy, innovation, ecology, as well as social welfare for these counties should be made more detailed and measurable. He also highlighted the importance of strictly practicing the "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" concept in these counties.
