The Information Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government released a notice on July 30, calling on the province's residents to raise their consciousness of risks involving the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Nanjing, which are attributable to the highly infectious Delta variant.

The authorities advised people in medium- and high-risk regions to postpone their previous plans to come to Zhejiang. If they are coming to Zhejiang, they need to carry a negative nucleic acid test result obtained within 72 hours before departure, as well as proactively report personal information to the residential communities, institutes, and hotels where they will be staying in Zhejiang.

The authorities also reminded Zhejiang residents to exercise caution to avoid further COVID-19 spread.

The authorities required Zhejiang residents to accept temperature and health code checks when entering public sites. For people who have shown symptoms like a fever and cough, they should put on masks and go to the nearest hospitals quickly without taking public transit.

The authorities also urged Zhejiang residents to receive COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible and maintain good sanitary habits
