The Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently announced the ambient air quality and water environment quality results from January to June this year for cities and regions throughout the country and Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province was a star performer.

According to the announcement, in the first half of the year, the air quality of Lishui ranked 5th in China, while in the water environment quality of the surface water assessment section it ranked 13th – and both rankings were records.

According to data on 55 counties and county-level cities in Zhejiang, the air quality of Lishui's Longquan, Qingyuan county, Jingning She autonomous county and Suichang county ranked in the top four.
