The regional government recently issued plans on speeding up the revitalization and development of old revolutionary base areas in the new era in East China's province of Zhejiang.
The paper said that key support should be given to the prefectural-level city of Lishui and the nine old revolutionary base counties of Yongjia, Wencheng, Pingyang, Taishun, Cangnan, Chun'an, Wuyi, Kaihua and Xianju.
Plans are for the province to focus on improving the infrastructure network of the areas, protect and restoring their ecology and environment, as well as work hard to promote and pass on revolutionary culture to future generations, among other things.
The goals include that by 2025, significant progress should be made in rural revitalization and new-type urbanization in the targeted areas, with the urbanization rate of permanent residents reaching 65 percent.
Moreover, the aim is that the growth rate of residents' incomes should be higher than the provincial average.
The urban-rural income ratio should reduce to less than 1.9, while the per capita disposable income of low-income households should increase by more than 10 percent annually.
By 2035, leap-forward and high-quality development are seen achieving systematic results and targeted areas are projected to realize high-level modernization simultaneously with the province.
