The third Seven Alleys on-site art program took place on Nov 5 in Lishui city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – as an important part of this year's Lishui Photography Festival.

The Seven Alleys art program is an on-site art creation activity led by Fu Yongjun, curator of the art gallery of the Communication University of Zhejiang. The program was first undertaken during the 2017 Lishui Photography Festival.

Before the advent of the biennial Lishui Photography Festival, photographers from all over the country were invited to create works in seven alleys in Lishui city, so that they could have close contact with locals and create works that integrated art and life.

After having being held three times, the residents of the seven alleys and the photographers are said to have established a close bond. According to Fu, the locals warmly invited the photographers to their homes for meals, just like old friends they've not seen for two years.

Fu added that only if you blend into the lives of the locals, can you truly discover the meaning of on-site photography and create something special that speaks for itself.
