East China's Zhejiang province has issued an action plan to mobilize scientific and technological resources to assist local eco-environmental protection efforts.

According to the plan, Zhejiang will establish a long-term working mechanism for scientific and technological assistance by 2025. Through this mechanism, research institutions including Zhejiang University, Ningbo University and China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences will collaborate with local authorities and help them carry out ecological and environmental protection programs.

By 2025, more than 300 experts will conduct research and provide technological assistance to dozens of cities and counties in the province. In addition, the city will hold at least 10 technology training and promotion events, and popularize more than 50 advanced and applicable technologies from now till 2025.

Authorities also intend to tackle a series of issues faced during the transition to green and low-carbon development, especially in matters related to water, atmosphere, soil, ocean, and hazardous waste treatment.
