Suichang county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang A&F University, or Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang.

Zhejiang A&F University is the only provincial agriculture and forestry university in the province. It will support Suichang's rural vitalization efforts relying on its strength in agriculture and forestry.

According to Suichang's current development needs, the university has listed 23 key tasks centering on industry, talent, culture, and ecology, among others.

The two sides will jointly establish a rural prosperity research institute to optimize Suichang's industrial layout and the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries. 

Suichang is among the top 100 counties in terms of green development in China, and a national demonstration county for ecological civilization construction. In 2021, the county's GDP reached 15.3 billion yuan ($2.27 million), an increase of 12 percent year-on-year.
