Sales of the new VA115 coaxial twin-rotor helicopter being produced by RS Helikopter GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of AviComms Technologies Co Ltd – based in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – are soon expected to take off.

The VA115 is a single-seat manned helicopter with an empty weight of about 139 kilograms and a maximum takeoff weight of 260 kg. The maximum airspeed is 130 kilometers per hour and the maximum range is 220 km.

AviComms Technologies has invited two German experts to advise on the product's research, development and production.

"In the future, even individuals can buy these aircrafts we produce, such as the VA115. It will be priced at around 1.2 million yuan ($179,494)," said Li Yuanxi, deputy general manager of AviComms Technologies.

The test flight of the VA115 is due to take place on July 5, Li added.
