The Open University of Lishui – located in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – was inaugurated on Aug 1, local media reported.

Lishui Open University was renamed from the Lishui Radio and TV University, which over the past 40 years has taught nearly 60,000 undergraduate and junior college graduates – making it an indispensable platform for mass education and lifelong learning in Lishui.

Aimed at creating a lifelong education system, Lishui Open University will promote local open education, community education and elderly education through the integration of various pedagogical resources.

At the inauguration ceremony, Lixuetong – a lifelong learning public service platform of Lishui – was launched. The platform will not only provide intelligent services for on-site learning, but also provide significant high-quality resources for online learning.
