Intl photography exhibition underway in Lishui

Residents from Lishui, Zhejiang province can now admire global cityscapes without flying to foreign countries.

"The cities of the world", an exhibition featuring 548 works by 252 photographers, opened at the Art Museum of Lishui on Nov 17.

With the work of photographers and institutions from 73 countries and regions, the photos showcased in the exhibition present cities from all over the world.

The exhibition has attracted many professionals and shutterbugs to visit.

"The event provides us a good opportunity to admire masterful photography works from all over the world. Learning from these works will also inspire me in making photography," said Shi Zhanjie, vice-professor of the department of photography at the Communication University of Zhejiang.

Xu Jianwei, a local photographer in Lishui, was seen taking photos of the visitors at the exhibition. He said as a native, he felt proud to see such a high-quality exhibition in Lishui.

Xu also mentioned he hopes Lishui, the home of photography, can be learned about by more people through such international exhibitions.

An integral part of the 2022 FIAP World Photographers Conference, the exhibition is slated to run until Dec 15.

The conference is the first time the city and the International Federation of Photographic Art, or FIAP are jointly holding this event, a partnership seen as a milestone for promoting the development of Lishui as a top international photography destination.
