Longquan porcelain debuts in Egypt

An exhibition titled "Exhibition on Zhejiang's Celadon and Chinese Culture" was held from Nov 17 to 28 at the Manial Palace Museum in Cairo, local media reported.

The exhibition featured renowned celadon potteries from East China's Zhejiang Province, including 29 modern porcelains produced in the Longquan Kiln and nine ancient blue-and-white ceramic wares.

Among the Longquan celadon potteries showcased in the exhibition is the Silk Road, which was created by Xu Shiwei, a craft master in Lishui, Zhejiang province.

Xu said that the ancient Silk Road played a key role in forging relations between China and other countries in the world. The selection of this work for the exhibition is to present China's ongoing friendly relations with foreign countries.

Following this exhibition, the porcelains will be showcased in Iran and other places. Then, 28 pieces of Longquan celadon works will be permanently kept by the Cairo - China Cultural Center.
