Celadon products from Longquan, a county-level city administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province, attracted many visitors at the Artigiano in Fiera 2022 in Milan from Dec 3 to 11.

Li Wujun, curator of the Lishui Bolan Art Gallery, gave a professional introduction of the celadon, which is known for its translucent glaze, jade-like coating and exquisite shapes.

Originating from the Jin Dynasty (265-376), Longquan celadon came to the fore in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). Glazed with green or yellow, celadon of that time featured delicate textures and fine ceramic layers.

"Longquan celadon is different from most handicrafts as it has strong commercial attributes. It exudes an elegant temperament at the expo site. Not only is there a large flow of people, but people are stopping and admiring it for a long time, fully reflecting the artistic charm of Longquan celadon," said Li Wujun.

Many international cultural product vendors and well-known handicraft vendors have issued cooperation invitations at the expo site, expressing a desire for market cooperation with Longquan.

Italian visitor Eduardo Miradona said that celadon can be admired in many palaces and museums in Europe. As an important representative of China's foreign cultural exports, Longquan celadon is connecting cultures around the world and helping facilitate China's international cultural exchanges.
