Registrations have been opened for the Lishui Marathon – due to be staged in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province on March 26, local media reported recently.

The Lishui Marathon will include a full marathon, which is 42.195 kilometers long, a half marathon, a 10 km health run and a 5 km family run.

Participants can sign up for the event on the Lishui Marathon official website. Registrations will stay open to Jan 15.

There is a maximum number of participants set for each event – 2,000 runners, as well as 5,000, 3,000 and 5,000 participants for the full marathon, half marathon, health run and family run, respectively.

Marathons have sparked major interest in Lishui in recent years and the city has been staging them since 2016.

In 2019, the Lishui Ultramarathon attracted 20,000 runners from home and abroad and it became the first 50 km urban marathon in China.
