Lishui city's GDP grows 4 percent last year

Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province saw steady growth in its main economic data last year, according to the city's government report released recently.

In 2022, Lishui's GDP reached 183.09 billion yuan ($26.28 billion), up 4 percent year-on-year. The city's output value of manufacturers above a designated size – those with annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan – exceeded 200 billion yuan for the first time, while  industrial added value increased by 5 percent to 39.96 billion yuan.

Last year, the city's fixed asset investment increased 16 percent compared with the previous year, while the growth rate remained at second place in the province for 12 consecutive months.

During the same period, per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents was 55,784 yuan and 28,470 yuan, respectively, up by 4.7 percent and 7.9 percent. The growth rate of rural residents' incomes was the highest in the province for 14 consecutive years.

The city introduced 28 projects worth more than 1 billion yuan and 165 manufacturing projects worth more than 100 million yuan last year. In June 2022, Tungshu Group's high-end photoelectric semiconductors materials manufacturing project – with a total investment of 11 billion yuan – broke ground. In so doing, it became the first 10-billion-yuan manufacturing project in Lishui.

In addition, Lishui's ecological environment index ranked first in the province for 19 consecutive years. In 2022, the city was recognized as a national demonstration area for ecological civilization construction.
