Qingtian county's flourishing agricultural products are increasingly going global – and more than 100,000 overseas Chinese are nowadays engaged in the international trade of them in wholesale and retailing activities.

The county has developed a formidable global overseas warehouse and sales network that integrates warehousing, logistics, customs clearances and sales of the produce from the county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province.

To date, Qingtian has established 119 overseas warehouse platforms, each with a floor space of over 2,000 square meters, in 23 countries – including Brazil, Chile and Cambodia – as well as six public overseas warehouses.

At the Phnom Penh Public Overseas Chinese Warehouse, Zhejiang Guoli International Freight Forwarding Co Ltd is currently making headway in Cambodia's consumer market with preparations for incoming goods.

Company's chairman Shi Haiping recently joined his team to sort through overseas orders and ensure that their clients' products were ready for storage.

"This is one of the largest public overseas warehouses in Cambodia, housing over 2,500 companies and gathering over 10,000 kinds of products, including food, appliances, agricultural products and daily necessities from Qingtian, Yiwu and other places," Shi said.

Moreover, Qingtian has set up more than 100 overseas counters for agricultural products in 35 European cities. By relying on overseas warehouses and overseas Chinese restaurants, Qingtian's specialties – such as waxberries, shiitake mushrooms and peppercorns – have thrived overseas. In 2022, the export value of Qingtian's agricultural products reached more than $20 million.

To provide comprehensive support for overseas warehouse construction, Qingtian established the Overseas Chinese Warehousing Trade Promotion Association at the end of 2022. With more than 230 members covering over 40 countries, the association offers full-service policy support, standardized management, detailed information and communications.
