Pear blossoms attract hordes of visitors to Jingning county

In March, when everything comes back to life and the spring breeze is gentle, wonderful pear blossoms bloom in Hongxing sub-district of Jingning She autonomous county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province.

Right now, more than 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) of pear trees are festooned with exquisite flowers, forming an enchanting rural spring tableau.

In Yanglyuhu village in Hongxing sub-district, there are more than 1,400 pear trees. From a distance, patches of white pear blossoms look like miniature snow-covered mountains. Up close, each petal is crystal clear and sways gracefully in the wind.

In the village, pear blossoms can be seen everywhere along the roadsides, fields, houses and gardens. The beautiful countryside is embellished by endless pear flowers, creating a charming pastoral image.

It is believed that Hongxing sub-district has been planting snow pears for more than 350 years. Over the centuries it has become an important means of increasing the incomes of villagers and boosting their prosperity.

From early March to early April, pear blossoms enter their best viewing time. When the flowers bloom, tourists always come in their droves, to savor the delightful scene.
