The modern Yueju Opera Lyu Shui Qing Shan, or Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains, will be staged on April 8 in the National Theatre of China in Beijing – showcasing the achievements of China's ecological civilization development and the people's pursuit of a better life.
The play was co-produced by the publicity department of Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province and the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yueju Opera Theater, which is based in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang.
The play uses the language of Yueju Opera, one of China's major traditional opera forms that originated in Zhejiang, to interpret China's ecological and environmental policy.
This revolves around the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.
It takes the fate of a family as the starting point, reflects the social realities from that perspective and depicts the life changes of ordinary people, their feelings and beliefs.
The production has adopted multi-media and intelligent functionality into its staging and combined modern dance, street dance, dances from the She ethnic group and other dance genres, which is said to appeal particularly to young people.
The play will be performed at 7:30 pm on April 8 at the National Theatre of China Theatre in the Xicheng district of Beijing. The performance duration is 120 minutes, with no intermission.
