The spring event called Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rural Areas was held on April 14 in the Guanju Cultural Park in Suichang county, administered by Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province.

The event displayed 32 intangible cultural heritage items from the nine administrative areas of Lishui and also from Longyou county, which is administered by the province's Quzhou city.

It aimed to boost the protection of intangible cultural heritage, promote the integration of culture and tourism and bolster the rural economy.

A product exhibition and sales area for handicrafts attracted a large number of visitors. They marveled at the exquisite works of art and skills, such as paper-cutting, Qingming rice cakes, black rice making and bamboo weaving.

"Through this event, I learned about the local intangible cultural heritage skills in Suichang, as well as those from other regions. I think it's quite meaningful," said Huang Wei, a local visitor.

According to organizers, the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rural Areas event is held in the four seasons of each year, when it is held in different regions in Lishui.
