A rural museum in Jinshan'ao village in Longquan city – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – is displaying more than 3,000 items of folk culture from different eras.

The museum, established by resident Tian Jigao, has attracted many visitors since it opened in February.

Named Tianyuan Gengdu, it's housed in an old two-story building with red walls and black tiles. Visitors going there can see exhibits of various items that reflect traditional culture and daily living in the past.

Tian, who is 67 years old, has been collecting the artifacts for more than 30 years. His collection covers a wide range of categories, from folk intangible cultural heritage – such as wood carving, stone carving, brocade and embroidery – to badges, lamps, wine utensils, farm tools and other old items.

Tian says that every old item has its own cultural imprint and it's the best physical evidence that has witnessed the development of the times.
