Longquan, a county-level city administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province, is famous for its celadon, a type of green-glazed Chinese ceramic.

To enhance the quality and efficiency of celadon production, a local company has been working on standardizing the porcelain clay, the raw material for making celadon, and providing customized services to various celadon-related enterprises.

The company, Longquan Celadon Resource Development and Services Co Ltd, has established three teams for research and development, testing, and firing processes. It also receives technical support from major universities and various celadon-producing regions across the country.

The company conducts nearly 50 experiments every month to explore the optimal formulation for each type of porcelain clay, which ensures the high quality of celadon products.

The company has developed 14 products so far, some of which have been provided to celadon production enterprises for trial use.

"The standardized porcelain clay not only enables us to produce on a larger scale, but also improves the quality of our finished products," said Zhang Zehua who works at Longquan Maorong Porcelain Co Ltd, one of the trial users.

Moving forwards, plans are for Longquan Celadon Resource Development and Services Co Ltd to adjust the formulation based on trial feedbacks, making porcelain clay a standardized product that meets the needs of different customers.
