An elderly man played the violin during a recent evening, in front of the Xin Rong Ju farm family resort in Sanjing village – located in Suichang county, in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – with the beautiful music catching the attention of tourists passing by.

"This summer, many people come here to enjoy the coolness and our farmhouse is packed every single day," said resort owner, Pan Ruirong.

Suichang county enjoys abundant tourism resources with several national 4A-level scenic spots, including the Gold Mine National Mine Park. Since the start of summer, tourists from other places have flocked there to escape the heat.

Sanjing village has significantly boosted its living conditions, food hygiene and support facilities to attract tourists. Currently, the village has over 10 farmhouses which offer a total of 200 beds. It's estimated that tourism revenue will top 7 million yuan ($960,372) this year.

Elsewhere, Gaoping township is another hot spot in Suichang county for tourists every summer. It takes advantage of its natural resources – such as high mountains, clear water, fresh air and varying temperatures – to promote rural tourism. According to statistics, over 120,000 tourists have visited Gaoping township since July.

Also in the ascendant is Ankou township. It recently upgraded its collective and individual income channels by launching various tourist activities – such as water drifting on the local stream – and introduced water purification plants.

As a result, eight out of nine administrative villages in the township have successfully upgraded their economy, with villages such as Ankou and Dashan earning over 500,000 yuan per year.
