Lishui city's cultural spaces shine in Zhejiang province

Four public cultural spaces in Lishui city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – have been officially recognized as being among the "most beautiful" in the province, according to the results of an assessment announced recently.

The assessment selected 28 public cultural spaces in five categories – covering best integration, best demonstration, best operations, best experience and best design.

The activity aimed to showcase the quality, efficiency and precision of grassroots public cultural services across the province – and highlight the development direction of the deep integration of culture and tourism.

The recognized public cultural spaces in Lishui are:

The Songyang County Wenli-Sanmiao Cultural Station, which won the best integration award. This is a multifunctional space that provides services such as cultural sharing, art popularization, interactive exchanges and cultural tourism information.

The Lishui Library, which won the best operations award. This is a transparent and atmospheric building inspired by the Qingtian stone seal, one of the "three treasures" of Lishui. It has various sections such as a newspaper reading area, a children's borrowing area, a picture book museum and a Red room.

The Jingning She Autonomous County Library Dajun Branch Library, which won the best experience award. This integrates reading with tourism and has itself become a beautiful part of the local scenery. It has rich collections and decorations reflecting the She ethnic group's style.

The Jinyun Yandang Book House, which won the best design award. This is located in the Xiandu Scenic Area and it won an award for being one of China's top 10 best built buildings in 2022. A once-abandoned quarry, it was transformed into its current celebrated configuration by a famous architect.
