Yang Xiaoying, secretary-general of the Wooden Toy Association in Yunhe county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, is busy organizing 10 wooden toy enterprises to participate in the 50th Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair.

As a national transformation and upgrading base for foreign trade of toys, Yunhe is accelerating the construction of characteristic industrial clusters centered on wooden toys, metal material products, precision bearings, and high-end valves.

The county employs innovative investment promotion strategies, such as leveraging big data, overseas authorization, and funds, to attract leading enterprises and headquarters in the industry. To date, Yunhe has attracted three major projects, with a total investment of 329 million yuan ($46.05 million).

In early January this year, one of the projects, the HABA Asian wooden toy assembly line in Yunhe Economic Development Zone, commenced operations, marking a new project introduced from the HABA Group in Germany.

HABA Group has also established its China headquarters, the Lishui Deyuan Children's Products Company, in Yunhe. The company also serves as the collection, production, assembly and R&D base for HABA Group.

"The reason we choose Yunhe in Lishui is not only the complete industry chain of wooden toys, but also the favorable business environment here," explained Ke Xue, general manager of the Chinese company.

The collaboration between HABA Group and Yunhe is a mere microcosm of the high-quality development of Yunhe's wooden toy industry. Four wooden toy enterprises in Yunhe have also entered into partnerships with the Mattel headquarters in California, US.
