Recently, several families with infants and young children received health education and services at an infant and child care service station in Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province.

To meet the demand for the nurturing and education of young children, Lishui has expanded the "Sunflower Parent-Child House" project and facilitated the establishment of infant and child care service stations.

As of 2023, nine counties (cities or districts) in Lishui have completed the construction of "Sunflower Parent-Child Houses", with 22 already operational. Additionally, four infant and child care service stations have been put into use in Longquan and Jingning She autonomous county.

Each "Sunflower Parent-Child House" features activity, playing, and reading areas, providing various services including parent-child education and reading. Through parent-child activities, parents' classes and home visits, it promotes the development of children's cognitive, language, and other abilities, and enhances parents' awareness and skills in child care.

The infant and child care service stations provide guidance on parenting skills, parent-child games, and temporary care services. They also organize family parenting group activities, which have been well-received by parents.

At present, Lishui boasts 85 instructors in parent-child houses. A total of 660 activities were held in 2023, benefiting 9,437 person-times.
