Lishui's GDP soars by 7.5% in 2023

The GDP of Lishui, Zhejiang province, reached 196.44 billion yuan ($27.43 billion) in 2023, with a 7.5 percent growth at constant prices. This growth surpassed both provincial and national levels, as indicated by unified GDP accounting results.

The added value of the primary industry sector was 11.50 billion yuan, marking a 4.8 percent increase. The secondary sector saw an added value of 74.01 billion yuan, representing a 6.7 percent growth, while the tertiary sector contributed 110.93 billion yuan, showcasing an impressive 8.4 percent increase.

Lishui's agricultural production has achieved steady growth in 2023. The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries reached 17.79 billion yuan, a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase at comparable prices.

Industrial production has also picked up steadily, with the added value of industries above designated size hitting 42.41 billion yuan, up 7.9 percent year-on-year.

The year 2023 further witnessed a rapid growth in the service industry of the city. The added value in the sector reached 110.93 billion yuan, rising by 8.4 percent year-on-year.

Lishui's consumer market continued its recovery, with total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 87.16 billion yuan–an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase.

Consumer prices remained relatively stable in 2023. While December witnessed a 0.6 percent year-on-year decrease in overall consumer prices, compared to the 2022, there was a modest 0.3 percent increase for the entirety of 2023. 

The per capita disposable income of all residents in Lishui was 47,182 yuan, up 6.1 percent year-on-year. For urban and rural residents, the figures were 58,583 yuan and 30,811 yuan, respectively, with the growth rate of rural income coming in at 3.2 percentage points higher than that of urban income.
