In March, black fungus has been thriving in the small-micro industrial park of Yunhe county, Lishui, Zhejiang province. Workers are busy harvesting the black fungus in the park, which covers around 6.67 hectares.
Shen Feilin, head of the park, transformed over 1.33 hectares of idle farmland into intelligent greenhouses for the cultivation of black fungus last year, pioneering the mechanized cultivation of "rice-fungus rotation" in Yunhe.
"Through the digital intelligent system in the greenhouse connected with the mobile app, we can monitor the conditions inside at any time," explained Shen. This system helps ensure the yield and economic benefits of black fungus by providing timely insulation and adjusting humidity.
In Shen's park, the picking period for the improved variety has been moved forward two months. In the past, the picking period, which lasted from October to April, made the harvest almost entirely dependent on the weather.
"The quality of the fungus in the greenhouse is significantly better than that grown outdoors," said Xie Shuiqing, a technician in the park. Thanks to the greenhouse and the meticulous care of professional staff, the black fungus has yielded abundant harvests.
Since 2022, Yunhe has been working to promote the construction of the "rice-fungus rotation" small-micro industrial park, driving the development of the edible fungus industry.
