The beauty of spring makes for the perfect subject for photographs and paintings. However, in Longquan, Lishui, Zhejiang province, a group of craftsmen took a different approach, using celadon wares to capture the beauty.

Wu Xiaohui, a celadon craftsman, depicted the 24 solar terms on celadon cups, showcasing the unique charm of each season. Through his work, the vibrancy of spring is recorded on cups.

Wang Bin, another craftsman, brought the beauty of spring tea to the celadon. By studying the form and texture of spring tea, he carved the branches and leaves onto celadon teacups using his unique carving technique.

While enjoying the tea, people can feel the charm of nature at the same time.

Yang Chenjie is a celadon artisan born in the 1990s. By carving clusters of yulan magnolia branches onto celadon cups, she creates a stunning work of art, integrating the elegance of flowers with the fragrance of tea.

Yang also carves wildflowers and weeds. The texture of petals, the veins of leaves, and the delicacy of stamens and pistils are all captured and presented in vivid detail.
