A kite-flying activity and luminous kite invitation tournament commenced beside Taihe Lake in Qingtian county, Lishui, Zhejiang province on April 5, drawing 300 enthusiasts from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces, as well as Shanghai.

After the opening ceremony, a stunning kite performance was offered by over 100 kite flyers, featuring a 60-meter octopus kite, a stunt kite flown by six people, and an impressive eagle kite mimicking the flight of a real eagle.

One of the most captivating displays was an array of nine 100-meter dragon-head kites from teams across the four regions, each embodying local characteristics and drawing admiration from the audience.

The luminous kite invitation tournament kicked off on the next day. Over 50 illuminated kites adorned the evening sky, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of light and color.

"The luminous kite is a combination of advanced technology and traditional kite skills, equipped with LED lights and reflective stickers," explained Chen Xiong, chairman of the Qingtian Kite Association.

Notably, a 100-meter luminous "dragon" stole the show, captivating the audience with its colorful lights and lively performance.

Zhu Changzheng, deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu Kite Association, emphasized that it took 11 months to complete the dragon kite made of bamboo as the skeleton and composed of 101 joints.
