Jingning celebrates its 40th anniversary

On the evening of April 10, a grand celebration ignited enthusiasm to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Jingning She autonomous county in Lishui, Zhejiang province.
A variety of performances, including solo singing, duets, dances, and national instrumental music, were provided by numerous artists from the China Ethnic Song & Dance Ensemble, as well as performers from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Taiwan, and Fujian province, and local actors.
Wu Shanshan, head of the Lishui Southwest Zhejiang She Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe, said, "Over 70 members of our troupe came for the event, and we participated in seven out of the 15 total performances."
In order to perfect its performances, the troupe has devoted themselves to consistent intense rehearsals since March. "Despite the tight time and heavy tasks, each of us still completed everything at a high level, trying our best to present a wonderful feast to audience," added Wu.
The Xinhe Song and Dance Ensemble from Xinjiang also made a significant contribution, traveling over 4,500 kilometers to take part in the celebration.
"Xinhe is the counterpart aid county of Jingning. We danced in the most gorgeous ethnic costumes, not only to celebrate this special moment, but also to express our gratitude to every Jingning people," exclaimed Maria Alimu, head of the ensemble.
