Nine fashion designs featuring synthetic leather materials from Lishui, Zhejiang province, were shown at the Silk Road Cultural Heritage Innovative Design Launch at the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts in France, according to local media on Nov 28.

The launch showed over 40 works by Chinese and French designers featuring diverse styles, exquisite craftsmanship, and auspicious patterns, which presented the tradition and innovation of the Chinese culture in the global fashion arena.

The fashion designs, crafted with synthetic leather materials from Zhejiang Mingfeng Chemical Co and Zhejiang Zaker New Material Technology Co, were enthusiastically acclaimed. Designers presented new aesthetics by skillfully combining classic Chinese embroidery with synthetic leather.

Notably, a jacket co-created by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University's Lishui Fashion Institute and Mingfeng Chemical drew significant attention. This design merged traditional Chinese cultural elements with modern trends for an aesthetic fusion of Chinese and French cultures.

"Driven by innovation, we have fused fashion with sustainability to create synthetic leather products that bridge different cultures and show the world the essence of Eastern aesthetics," said Zheng Sixian, a representative from Zaker New Material.
