Lishui references shine in provincial government work report
The Zhejiang provincial government work report was released on Jan 14 at the third session of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress in Hangzhou, summarizing achievements from 2024 and outlining objectives for 2025.
Readers of the report noted a raft of shining keywords and encouraging data that evoked pride – notably, "Lishui elements" frequently appear, with multiple references of Lishui, located in the Southwest Zhejiang.
Overall, accelerating urban-rural integration is fundamental to tackling regional imbalances, urban-rural divides, and income differences. The report highlights pilot projects for integrated basic public services in Zhoushan, Chun'an county in Hangzhou, Longyou county in Quzhou, and Jingning She autonomous county in Lishui.
Over the past year, Jingning has focused on education, healthcare, elderly care, and childcare, and advanced various projects to bridge the urban-rural public service gap – laying a solid foundation for common prosperity among all ethnic groups.
The report also mentions the Baihuayan wind farm in Qingyuan county, the largest onshore wind power project in Zhejiang, which was fully connected to the grid and started operating in December 2024.
The project is expected to supply about 500 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This saves about 160,000 metric tons of standard coal and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 436,000 tons.
The year 2025 marks the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. The report states the goal of ensuring the completion and operation of major projects like Lishui Airport. It also mentions accelerating the laying out of the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou intermodal shipping channels.
