Lishui's eco-product trading platform recently surpassed a cumulative transaction value of 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion), after a successful transaction was completed involving forest ownership and land use rights in Tanggen village located in Qingyuan county, Lishui, Zhejiang province.
As the country's first pilot city to explore a mechanism to realize the value of ecological products, Lishui has in recent years been on the move. It's dedicated itself to creating a unified city-wide eco-product trading platform, which aims to offer professional and reliable services to all market participants.
The platform now features a fully digitalized process for the storage, trading, developing, and services of eco-products. It provides stakeholders with integrated services that link resources, match information, and facilitate interactions.
The platform encompasses transactions for 15 types of eco-products – including forest rights, forestry carbon credits, sand and gravel resources, and usage rights for idle homesteads and houses. It also standardizes transaction procedures, fee structures, supervision, and dispute resolutions.
Moreover, by converting ecological value, the platform has turned Lishui's ecological assets into economic benefits, increasing the incomes of local residents.
Since its trial operation began in December 2022, the Lishui's eco-product trading platform has introduced 3,710 ecological resources – including forest rights, forestry carbon credits, and reservoirs. Some 2,318 transactions have been completed, worth a total of 10.29 billion yuan.
