Highlights of Lishui's annual government work report

Lishui's annual government work report was released at the fifth session of the fifth Lishui people's congress on Feb 24 – summarizing the achievements of 2024 and outlining the goals for 2025.

Last year, the GDP of Lishui – situated in East China's Zhejiang province – hit 218.12 billion yuan ($30.11 billion), up 6.6 percent from the previous year, with the growth rate ranking the highest in the province. Its general public budget revenue increased by 3.8 percent.

The industrial added value of large-scale enterprises grew by 9.3 percent, ranking fifth in the province, while fixed asset investment rose by 8.3 percent, ranking second.

Urban residents, rural residents, and low-income farmers all saw income growth rates ranking at the highest levels in the province.

In 2024, total retail sales of consumer goods grew by 6.9 percent, the highest in the province. Comprehensive tourism revenue also increased by 6.9 percent, and export totals rose by 17.4 percent, ranking second in the province.

Last year, Lishui's water and air quality ranked fourth and ninth nationwide, respectively. Additionally, the city discovered 16 new species and was selected as a "Charming City of Biodiversity" by the United Nations.

For 2025, Lishui is targeting GDP growth of around 6.5 percent and retail sales growth of over 6.5 percent.

The government will focus on seven key areas, including developing new quality productive forces, pursuing common prosperity, deepening the high-level opening-up, and improving public welfare.
