Lishui's economy posts robust growth in Jan-Feb

Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province posted a strong economic performance in the first two months of 2025, according to official data.

The figures showed that from January to February, 26 out of its 36 major industrial sectors reported positive growth in value-added output.

Most notably, the added value of the computer, communications, and other electronics equipment manufacturing sector soared by 88.7 percent year-on-year. The added value of the automotive industry surged by 53 percent, while the rubber and plastics sector increased by 35.3 percent. Elsewhere, the added value of the cultural, educational, sports, and entertainment products sector rose by 34.6 percent.

Meanwhile, fixed asset investment saw a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent, reflecting a continued expansion in the investment scale.

Total retail sales of consumer goods for the period hit 17.55 billion yuan ($2.42 billion), representing 4.2 percent year-on-year growth, indicating a resilient consumer market.

In the first two months, the value of Lishui's total imports and exports hit 7.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.9 percent. Exports alone amounted to 6.2 billion yuan, a 15 percent rise, while imports totaled 1.04 billion yuan, up by 14 percent.

Finally, the consumer price index in Lishui's urban areas rose by 0.6 percent year-on-year.
