During the recent Qingming Festival holiday, the Jiulong National Wetland Park in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province attracted hordes of visitors to see the enchanting glow of the fireflies there.

The park is one of Zhejiang's earliest and most renowned firefly viewing spots. It's home to a large population of the firefly species, Emeia pseudosauteri, which enters its breeding season from late March to early April.

The annual firefly viewing activities took place from April 2 to 6 at the Jiulong National Wetland Park, coinciding perfectly with the three-day Qingming Festival holiday.

As night fell, the park transforms into a dreamlike realm of light and shadow. Myriads of fireflies cast their lights under the trees, over the water, and across the grass – creating a breathtaking spectacle that adds a touch of romance and poetry to the spring night.

Fireflies become most active about an hour after sunset, with the best viewing times between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. For photographers, capturing their ethereal beauty requires professional equipment and skills.
