Global artists breathe new life into Longquan celadon art
Over 200 artists from more than 40 countries and regions gathered in Longquan, Zhejiang province, for the "Longquan Exchange, Global Creation" Chinese and Foreign Artists' Celadon Collaboration, which was held from May 5 to 9.
It was the second time the Wang'ou Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue held the event this year, aiming to enhance cultural exchanges related to ceramic art and promote the innovative development of Longquan celadon.
The event provided a platform for global artists to collaborate with local celadon artisans, fostering cultural exchange and innovation.

Master Xu Shiwei, vice-president of the Longquan Youth Celadon Craftsmen Academic Research Association, participated in the event for the second time and emphasized the importance of diverse cultural perspectives in revitalizing celadon art.
At the event, young artists were inspired by the international artists' keen sense of color and form, realizing the expansive potential of Longquan celadon beyond traditional forms.
In the Wang'ou Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue Art Gallery, emerging artist Xie Junyi collaborated with German artist Gabriele Kunne, using Longquan clay as a creative medium.
In the art gallery, American ceramicist Marc Leuthold's piece Longquan captivated visitors with its suspended circular design, symbolizing the jade discs of the past. It was crafted with the fingerprints of local workers.
