A campground in the Yunhe Terrace scenic area — located in Yunhe county, Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province — was buzzing with colorful tents and visitors eager for a mountain camping experience on May 12.

Mountain camping has become a popular getaway for young travelers. In recent years, Lishui has promoted mountain camping and developed over 20 mountain camping sites. These sites combine camping with intangible cultural heritage experiences, cultural markets, immersive activities, water sports, stargazing, and children's playgrounds, enhancing the camping experience for visitors.

With 3,573 peaks over 1,000 meters high, Lishui's mountainous terrain offers both challenges and opportunities. By attracting external investment, Lishui has transformed idle lands into multifunctional camping sites, offering activities such as mountain biking, mountain camping, and forest wellness.

This year, Lishui's mountain campsites welcomed nearly 100,000 visitors, with revenue increasing by 15 percent year-on-year.

The popularity of camping gear among young travelers has boosted sales for Lishui outdoor products enterprises. Local companies like Zhejiang Bswolf Outdoor Products Company and Zhejiang Qunli Leisure Products Company are now experiencing peak production.

Additionally, Zhejiang Shengbo Leisure Products Company, also based in Lishui, is expanding its global market reach and is busy producing a batch of lightweight outdoor sunshades to be shipped to Germany.
