As the red bayberry harvest begins in Qingtian county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, the integration of cutting-edge technology is transforming the harvesting, sorting, and transportation of these fruits, ensuring they reach international markets at peak freshness.

In the outdoor red bayberry fields of Qingtian, rail cart transport systems have become essential. "With rail carts, we can now transport 200-250 kilograms of red bayberries at a time, reducing labor costs and boosting efficiency," said Jin Suhong, general manager of Qingtian Jitao Ecological Agriculture Development Company.

This year, drones have also employed for the first time, significantly speeding up the process. Five drones can transport up to 100 kilograms of red bayberries per trip, moving an average of 17 metric tons daily.

In the sorting workshop of Qingtian Jitao, workers pack the ripe red bayberries into specialized packaging, while Jin oversees quality. Though the rainy season affects outdoor crops, greenhouse-grown red bayberries have already sold over 10,000 kilograms. The outdoor harvest is expanding, expected to continue until mid-July.

Jin is particularly excited about exports, with shipments to Singapore and Barcelona. Orders from Mexico, Italy, and Cambodia are in negotiation. The exported red bayberries travel via cold chain logistics to maintain freshness.

With streamlined customs, Qingtian's red bayberries are reaching international destinations faster.
