The 2025 Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League's Lishui division started with an exciting opening match in Jingning She autonomous county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, on July 13.

As the largest and most prestigious amateur basketball event in the province, the league will run from July 2025 to February 2026, featuring teams from 90 counties (county-level cities and districts) across 11 cities.

The competition includes preliminary rounds and the City Championship. Preliminary rounds in each city are set to conclude by July 2025, and the City Championship will start Aug 8.

The Lishui division's preliminary rounds, held from July 13 to 27, include 23 matches in group stages, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the Championship. The champion team from Lishui's nine counties (county-level cities and districts) will join a city-level joint team to represent Lishui in the City Championship.

At 7:56 pm, the opening match had the team from Jingning She autonomous county facing off against the team from Liandu district. The intense competition featured fierce battles, igniting the passion of both players and spectators. Amid the cheers and support, the Liandu team secured the first victory of Lishui's preliminary rounds.

To turn match days into a city-wide sports celebration, Lishui has introduced initiatives to blend sports with culture, tourism, and consumption, offering fans various tourism discounts and gifts.
