The Chinese tea drink brand Chagee has introduced a limited-edition co-branded series featuring Longquan celadon from Longquan county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, to celebrate its third anniversary in Zhejiang.
This collaboration merges two heritages — tea and Longquan celadon — to create packaging and derivative products that blend tradition with modern aesthetics. These products have quickly gained popularity among consumers.
Designed by Mao Weijie, an inheritor of Longquan celadon firing techniques from Lishui, and Chen Xiaobo, a provincial master craft artist, the series centers on the shape of the letter "C" that symbolizes Chagee, cha (tea), and china.
Chagee also offers the Zhejiang-exclusive "Fenghe Quyuan" packaging, inspired by the Quyuan Fenghe Park in Hangzhou. The packaging not only highlights the lotus leaves in the park but also embodies the emerald green of Longquan celadon.
Complementing these offerings, Chagee opened an immersive Longquan celadon-themed store in Hangzhou. Visitors can view handcrafted celadon artworks by Mao and get derivative products like refrigerator magnets, badges, and bags adorned with celadon patterns.
Recent years have witnessed frequent cross-industry partnerships between Longquan celadon and well-known brands. From becoming the pre-installed theme for Honor's tablets to integrating into Florasis' cosmetic products, this millennium-old ceramic art is reinventing itself through contemporary aesthetics while achieving dual success in heritage preservation and commercial innovation.
