Yunhe county, located in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, has pioneered the transformation of natural resources into sustainable growth.

Since 2020, Yunhe has been at the forefront of ecological product value realization through market transactions.

The county has conducted comprehensive surveys of its natural resources, including forests, water, and minerals, to assess, register, and integrate its ecological assets. The process allows for large-scale storage and market-driven operations.

In the first half of the year alone, Yunhe completed ecological product transactions worth 285 million yuan ($39.71 million).

The Yunhe snow pear, a top regional pear variety in Zhejiang, has been revitalized through strategic branding and market operations. Collaborating with Zhejiang University, Yunhe has introduced pear-based products like wine and snacks, boosting its market presence.

With a cultivation area of 14.67 square kilometers and an annual output of over 5,800 metric tons, the industry generates an annual output of 170 million yuan and now supports over 6,000 jobs.

Additionally, the local Yunhe rice terraces have undergone ecological restoration, bringing new development opportunities to the region.

Overall, the integration of the Yunhe scenic terraces with tourism has driven local economic growth and increased the incomes of residents.
